Dio Chapter 3

"A Night's Hunt"

His shadow loomed over the moonlit park of the city that never sleeps. He was limping. Slowly dragging his feet through the pavement, ignoring the pain that was felt in his throat and his thigh.

He saw a bench and sat on it. Cursing a mangy mongrel that had fouled his plan tonight.

"Accursed dog." he muttered.

He clenched his left kidney, which looked bruise and battered as if it was hit by a force so strong, that it could've blown away a whole building.

"A Sand controlling Stand. And an animal controlling it. This certainly is news to me. I thought only humans can have Stands due to the high mental capacity needed to control it. But it seems this theory is much less unfounded."

He stops.

"Unless this is an animal of high intelligence."

He shrugs it off and closed his eyes. Being immortal gave him a fast self-healing abilities.

He was ready to doze off until he hears sounds of teenagers. Taunting him.

Hey get up, freak. What kinda shit costume is that? Ha ha ha, look at all the 'love' crap he has all over him. Damn faggot

Four different voices. Four different people. Four different teenagers.

Four different blood.

He creaked a smile in his little nap.

Joey didn't know that something like this was going to happen. He thought this is just another day of mugging people in Central Park when they seemed very tired, or relaxed.

Never knew that something extraordinary was going to happen to his usual routine.

Never knew that something bloody was going to happen on his usual nights.

Never knew that vampires existed.

Joey was hiding behind a big tree, hoping that his assailant wouldn't find him. He tried to take a peek to see maybe Fezz and Donald got free as well.

Good god, what he did to Roy was inhuman. To suddenly stand up was one thing, but to just poke your hand through a person's chest as if it was a pillow or something soft was just... inhuman.

And what happened after that was what made Joey run. Roy's body... his face... hell, his skin just shrunk. His blood was being sucked by this inhuman man, through his HAND! For god's sakes, how do you suck blood through hands? It's not normal even for vampires!!

Joey hears and sees nothing other than the lifeless, bloodless, drained body of his friend on the pavement. Head crushed. The inhuman must've crushed his head in after he drained the blood. God, this inhuman is totally merciless.

In any case, Joey saw it as a sign to just make a break for it.

He bolted for the fence. Maybe he can climb it fast enough to make it to the street. Maybe he can run fast enough to make it to the city. Maybe the vampire will die seeing all the lights in the city.

Maybe he should've stayed hiding.

As he was about to reach the fence something came crashing down from the tree over the fence and hit Joey on the shoulder, surprising him so much that he lost his balance and fell face first onto the ground. He turned to see what made him lose his balance and hopes to god and all that is holy to not let it be the vampire.

But what he saw frightened him even more. It was actually Fezz that dropped him to the ground, but not because Fezz wanted to do it, it was more like because Fezz was dead and hanging on the tree by his innards. His stomach totally open to show the insides but there was absolutely no blood in it, gushing out or dripping. The inhuman struck again, Joey thought to himself.

He stumbled to get up from the ground to climb the fence that was just inches away from him until he saw the inhuman was already waiting for him on the other side of the fence.

The inhuman was standing outside, giving this weird pose to Joey. The moon shined behind him, giving Joey this sihoutted shape of the man, which made it even more scarier to him. The inhuman's was still closed. All this time since he attacked Roy, he never even opened it.

Not that opening it would make Joey calmer, in fact, just as Joey was thinking about this horrifying man's eyes, he opened it and it glowed into the night, giving him more frightful images.

Of course, Joey was a bit on the brighter side, he didn't wait to turn tail and run for hiding. He ran all the way to a bench and decided to take a rest, thinking he already go far.

A crack was heard behind him. Who'd have thought, a little sound of a twig cracking can make a man in his early 20s pee his own pants. The bench was wet and smelled afoul of the young man's urine, but then, again, the young man was smart enough to run even on the slightest sound.

He ran without thinking, all he knows is that maybe if he ran far enough, or hard enough, he'd wake up.

Of course, he knew this wasn't a dream. Not when his head hit the fence that was already far behind him. He rubbed the bump that had forged itself on his head upon his impact with the steely pole that was created to put thugs out of nature's place in the city and looked up to see that this is indeed the same fence where his friend Fezz was hanging at.

He turned around and saw the inhuman was waiting behind him.

He screamed as the monster came closer and closer to him. Out of his fear, he lets out a kick that got this monster right on his left kidney. The man doubled back a bit and clutched his left kidney but stood up just a few seconds after that. At this moment, the moonlight was shining on the monster's face and Joey saw the monster's face, and surprisingly, it looked quite human.

Until it started to grin. It wasn't a menacing grin, or a scary grin even, but it was a confident grin. Confident that he will get what he wants. Confident that Joey cannot win this chase. And that scared Joey even more than any kind of evil smile that anyone can put on.

It was not long after this that Joey felt a sharp pain went through his chest. Joey looked and saw that the man had his hand deep into his body, clutching his heart inside it.

Then, Joey died.

He killed the first three already. Now just one left and he'll be happy for the rest of the night.

This hunt was definitely not to regain his energy or anything, but he just needed to vent his frustration for not being able to feed on Anna and the fact that he got beaten up by a small mongrel of a dog.

The whole refreshing up was just an extra incentive.

After crushing the young man's heart and draining the blood of it's lifeless body, he stood up and perked up his ears to listen to the footsteps of the last one running. Escaping.

Funny enough, he didn't hear any.

How odd, he thought to himself.

He jumped atop a tree to find the little man that had the galls to come up to him and call him names. Galls that wasn't big enough it seemed, as this man is now hiding behind, of all things, a bird bath.

He jumped from the tree and shattered the bird bath with his bare hands, revealing a man crouching on the ground, shaking and of course, as expected, wet his pants.

He stood before the boy and demanded for the boy to stand up.

Without hesitation, the boy stood up, still shaking with fear.

The boy was a bit on the pudgy side, but not fat. He was big sized, and looked to him like a very resourceful young man. After all, the boy did elude him long enough to be the last one.

He smirked at the boy and made a little swipe at the boy's neck.

The boy's head de-attached itself from it's body and rolled down the ground. The body limply was about to hit the ground until he caught it. He then bit into his own wrist, letting blood flow from it and drip into the boy's neck.

He picked up the boy's head from the ground and reattached it to the boy's neck and the cut just formed itself together as if there was never a cut there in the first place. The boy then opened his eyes and bowed to him.

He smiled at his new follower.

"You seem to be very fast on your feet boy. And to know not to run but to just try and hide was very smart of you. But it's just too bad that I'm smarter. If you were fighting a monster without any brains might have freed you though, but then, with the way things turned out, things didn't come out bad at all, did it? Now you're an immortal and have strength beyond that of mortal humans." he commented to the boy.

"Yes, lord Dio, I am eternally grateful to you. Your wish is my command." The boy replied, still kneeling in front of the man.

The man picked the boy up and brushed off the dust that was residing on the boy's shoulder, "What's your name, son?"

"Donald, my lord."

"Donald, my boy, I want you to go around your little slums and gangs and try to gather me information regarding four beings. Two of them being the Joestars, which I'm sure you will have full information of, thank to the imprint in my blood, and another pair being a woman with a little... dog. I wish to know the location of the Joestars and the woman, but try to get me more information on the dog. I want to know everything about that dog, do you understand me? It may prove to be a big threat to me someday, so I'll either want it by my side, or in the ground dead and buried, do you understand?"

"Yes my lord, I will do my best to please you."

"Good, now go and do your duties. I shall be here when you wish to see me."

"Yes my lord" and with that answer, Donald jumped off from the ground, truly showing his newfound skills and power.

Dio grinned and commented, "New York may not be that bad of a place after all."
