Chapter Archives - Jean Polnareff

Background: Jean Polnareff, preferring to be called by his last name Polnareff by all but his close friends, lived a rather normal life. he had a happy childhood, getting along with everyone and acing classes. Until 5th grade, when his mother died. nobody quite knew why, but this changed something in the young boy. He was shattered, but he bottled it up inside himself. Through middle school in France, he was non-manageable, never doing school work and always taking the easy way out of things, no matter what. He had a strong fighting spirit, and got in more then a few small tussles with those around him, and always played many sports which he still loves to this day. But he always had a dream, a dream of supporting himself alone and escaping the clutches of his overprotective family. People laughed at him, the “Rich Boy” in the school.

Through High School, he was independent, to a fault. he found schoolwork to be a waste of time, none of the information he learned was applicable at all. He flunked out and never went to college. His father offered to let him move in, to support him, but he declined, instead living in a one bedroom apartment. He tried his hardest to get by, and somehow found himself asking for more money from his family then he even earned. He spent many years doing this, yet still he had not fully gotten over his Mother’s death. At 24, his youngest sister was graduating from college. She wanted him to join her for the prom, a chaperone, but he declined. He was alone now, he had said. She should live her life independently as well. These words where the last he had ever spoken to his sister. She and her friend died later that night, murdered by the assassin J.Geil.

He never lived this down. If he would have been there, maybe they would not have died. Maybe he could have saved them. This has been eating him for a couple years. He had already lost his mother, but this death was unexpected. But it could also be revenged. Shortly after her death. something manifested itself, an entity he later found out to be a Stand, fueled by his fighting spirit and thirst for revenge. He refined and practiced with it, leaving his independent life and traveling around the world alone. The only clue he had was the last words her friend spoke. An unseen attacker and her sister being raped by a man with two right hands. To this day he is preparing for that fight, and will go by any means to find him and slaughter him, even if he himself is killed. And in realty, that would actually make him happier.

For someone so distraught, he is very high spirited to those around him. He laughs easily, and is always a smooth talker with the ladies. Many people know him and call him their friend, blissfully unaware of the rage burning in his heart.

Plans:
Polnareff’s first arc is 4 chapters, with him tracking down and finally encountering J.Geil. He’ll encounter many people on his way there, among them Oingo, the elder gambler D’arby, Enyah and most likely Darkside itself, and inevitably Hol Horse as well. What he will do when he finds J.Geil is iron clad and unchangeable. He will kill him in a death a hundred times more painful then his sisters.

Strengths:
He is not the brightest crayon in the box, but not due to lack of potential. He slacked off in school and mainly played sports, which dulled his common sense and gave him under average knowledge but made him athletic and fit. He is brilliant in combat, able to think of unexpected strategies and cope with most anything. He possesses a powerful Stand, Silver Chariot, who he has refined for years and can unerringly use in new and surprising ways. He is also not that bad looking in the slightest, and works very well with ladies and makes friends easily as well. His favorite type of girl is whatever his current mood is, and whenever he has a goal nothing can detour him from it. He does have a rather short temper, but he is a persistent opponent who is never easy, and always fights with his own personal code of honorable combat. He always prefers to fight alone, and never turns down a challenge, no matter what it may be or if he might die.

Silver Chariot himself is exceptionally fast, looking much like a one armed mechanical human. His fencing style Epee can quickly and accurately stab anything and everything. His armor itself resists attacks and heat, and if situations call for it or he is damaged, it can explode off and he becomes 10x faster, to the point you cannot even see him move.

Weaknesses:
Quite simple, he takes the easy path through anything, even if it is dangerous and stupid. Some things that should be apparent to most he falls for. Respect to him is hard to earn, and he is untrusting of almost everyone, letting nobody get close to him. Also, he says whatever comes to mind at the time with no inhibitions, this combined with doing whatever he wants to do at any time making him appear overly stubborn and proud. At the same time a strength, his honorable tendencies can make battles with dishonorable opponents much more difficult. Also, sometimes he can get rather angry, affecting his judgment and usually he ends up losing battles he could normally win due to this. His thirst for combat is excessive, and he always goes off alone, even in a group of trusted friends.
