Character Bio
Character Background: Immortals, observers, scientists, philosophers...for centuries, Gill's kind has secretly watched the ways of man. Few know of their existence, even fewer know of their subtle influence on the course of history. None know of their origins...whether they were even native to Earth or hailing from some distant star. An advanced race, many possessed powers over the elements in addition to their highly-developed technology and genetic knowledge. The humans that knew about them saw them as gods, miracle workers...a cult of maniacs. As the world modernized, the clan quickly adapted to blend in, establishing a genetic engineering corporation that would act as a cover to their true existence. Through this facade, they continued their own subtle influence on the world. Their intent always remained in the shadows, unknown to anyone but them. Their greatest secret, however, was the existence of the Emperor. The Emperor was the inheritor of everything--their history, their power, their knowledge. Even as the faction took on a more corporate ranking system, the Emperor remained a constant, known only of by the company CEO and chairmen. Gill is this inheritor, the 'one who controls the elements' as stated in the Book of Miraha--the clan's sacred text. This book told of a great disaster to come, as well as Gill's role to guide the world through rebirth. Brought up to be this savior, Gill quickly overshadowed his elder brother, Urien, who also vied for the seat of power. He is no stranger to his sibling's hatred for him...but why he does not evict him is neither understood, nor questioned. Gill believes that the coming disaster that marked his rise to power is fast approaching. Now, his kind prepares to meet the inevitable future. The time for secrets may be coming to an end... Character Plans: The delicate balance of the world is collapsing...destruction is imminent. Only one can guide the people through the darkness of suffering and bring forth their utopia. Gill honestly believes he is that savior. Gradually making his presence known to the modern world, Gill plans on facing his clan's foretold disaster, restoring the resulting disrupted balance through most any means possible. If it means that more death and destruction, so be it. For this...some may consider him the devil...others may consider him a god. However, the path to his goal is hampered by those who prey upon the darker side of human nature...as well as the jealousy of his elder brother. Character Strengths: Strong, intelligent, philosophical...Gill seems to embody the ancient Greek ideal of mental and physical perfection. Born with the ability to control the feuding forces of fire and ice, he is a force to be respected, if not feared. His charisma and sheer force of presence has won him many followers. One would think a being of such power would quickly be corrupted...but to a good number that have encountered him, they are surprised to discover that Gill possesses his own breed of honor. He keeps his word and gives proper respect to those who show great strength. He cannot be considered neither good nor evil...only justified in his own ways. Character Weakness: Since Gill was brought up to become the inheritor of his people, it isn't surprising that he possesses a god complex. However, while he sees himself as a superior being, he views his position as a responsibility rather than a gift. He is often detached from most emotions and often can't relate to actual human struggles. His tendency to see the far-reaching good of his actions often blinds him to the misfortune and destruction that he causes...typically making him appear callous and harsh. He also has very little tolerance for weakness, whether it be physical, mental, or emotional. |
