Yun and Yang Chapter 6

"Crowded Street - Hong Kong Action Edit, Part 2"

With courage and resolve mixed in with his anger, Yun marched to the skateboard ramp. His instincts told him the bullies were still there. Someone had to teach them a lesson and that someone had to be him.

'What am I thinking?' Yun thought suddenly. 'Anger doesn't solve anything. I gotta relax and take things cool.'

His instincts were right again. The bullies were still there beating up on the innocent children. The children cried for someone to help them. Many older ones lay scattered around - older siblings, perhaps even parents or guardians. This time Yun restrained his anger. His head was calmer, he could see his enemy with more focus now.

"Tsk, tsk. The babies are getting revenge on the ones who took their candies. Awww...."

The large men growled. Those who were holding children threw them to the ground. One of the men approached Yun. He appeared more mature than the others but still just as angry as the rest. "Shut up, brat. You can't possibly understand how we feel."

"Here comes the tragic story." Yun muttered.

"My name is Te Lon. We have 20 children in our family. Our parents died when we were young. Since then we've worked hard at the food retailers to deliver to the many groceries. Even though we worked hard, the children would still laugh at us and kick us in the face for being orphans. Now ... now we're coming back to give the children what they rightfully deserve. They picked on us so now we're picking on them."

Yun nodded his head in the way a husband would pretend to listen to a wife. "Uh huh, uh huh.....wait, he's done." He fiddled with the brim of his cap. "Look, if you have problems, go see a shrink. Let bygones be bygones. Look at you! You all look over 20 years old. The kids who beat you up probably all have jobs by now. These kids have done nothing to you. Apologise to them and leave them alone."

Te Lon clenched his teeth. "Don't tell us what to do, brat! You're asking for trouble."

"If you wanted a fight, just say so." Yun took off his cap, dusted it on his knee, fitted it back on his head and went into his fighting stance. The other men did the same. But this time Yun knew he was going to win. He wasn't going to let his anger cloud his judgement. The children hid behind the ramp, peeking out. Their hopes lay on Yun. Yun turned to them and winked.

"Don't look the other way!" Te Lon cried.

Yun whirled around sharply just in time to see Te Lon fly at him with a head-targetted jump kick. Yun stepped to the side and pushed the foot away with his left hand. Quickly, Yun spun around and side-kicked straight up in the air, nailing Te Lon in the jaw. There was a loud cracking noise. Te Lon flew up and crashed to the ground. The children watching from behind the skateboarding ramp winced. They didn't know which was more painful - the force of the blow or the fact Yun did the splits.

But Te Lon wasn't finished yet. Leg outstretched he swept Yun off his feet. Yun fell backwards, holding his hands behind his head. Te Lon stood, raised his foot in the air, and slammed down as hard as he could. Yun backflipped, narrowly avoiding the attack. Te Long's foot crashed into the cement grounds. A large dent formed, accompanied by an equally loud crack. Yun landed on his feet but only in time to see Te Lon's spin kick collide with his jaw.

"Take that!" Te Lon cried.

Yun vaulted back. "Tai Kwon Do, eh? Pretty cute moves you have there."

"Are you making fun of me?" Te Lon demanded.

"Nah. Your moves do that already."

Te Lon clenched his teeth. "Why you impertinent little brat..."

Te Lon rushed at Yun with a flurry of attacks, not giving Yun a chance to move. Yun was only able to block. But he was also able to watch how his opponent moved. 'He's attacking with mainly kicks. His punches are either too weak or don't reach me. Now I get it!'

"Keep your mind on the fight!" was heard accompanied by a swict kick to Yun's gut.

"C'mon, Mr. Yun! Beat him up!" one of the kids called. The other children echoed in chorus.

Yun coughed but didn't flinch. Instead, he looked up and grinned.

"Wha...?"

"Let me show you that nobody beats Chinese Kung Fu!"

And in turn, Yun flew at Te Lon with his own flurry of attacks. However, unlike Te Lon's wild flurry, Yun's attacks were sharp, striking Te Lon hard before he felt it. Elbow, left elbow to the jaw, right punch, left punch, right rising kick... Yun was purposely using half his strength, saving for the last blow - a spinning roundhouse which struck Te Lon's leg. There was a loud snap. Te Lon fell to the ground. His leg lay numb. Yun had broken the bone. Yun stepped back slightly.

"Precision-striked Sourai Rengeki. I usually don't go easy but I was feeling sympathy for your sorry butt." Yun commented.

Te Lon was at a loss for words. He was so in shock, he couldn't stand. Not to mention one of his legs was broken. "But... how...?"

"Tae Kwon Do is a Korean martial art that focuses on kicks. Though hand techniques exist, they're mainly for self defence. Your main offence lies in your feet. So by breaking your leg, not only is your main source of offence gone but you're also half powerless. Am I right?" Yun leaned over and grinning in Te Lon's face.

Te Lon clenched his teeth.

The storming white dragon dusted his hands. He eyed the other bullies. There appeared to be 13 left. "So, any one of you want to fight?"

The rest of the bullies, apparently Te Lon's siblings, cowered. One of the larger ones pointed an accusing finger at Yun. "You'll pay for it! The strongest one of us all will surely defeat you tonight!"

With that, they took off. Yun turned to the kids and tipped his cap. "They're all gone, kids."

The kids reacted with a frantic cry. "Mr. Yun! Behind you!"

Yun whirled around in time to see Te Lon's body fly at him. Yun didn't have time to raise his guard. He was in trouble. He closed his eyes, ready for the blow.

But it never came.

Te Lon fell back from the impact of a jump kick. "What the hell just happened?"

Standing before the Taw Kwon Do fighter was none other than Yang. Clad in his rollerblades, holding Yun's skateboard on his shoulder, he glared at Te Lon.

"You have some nerve continuing a fight with a broken leg." Yang said calmly. "Leave or I shall be forced to break the other one."

No more words said. Te Lon crawled away as fast as he could.

Yun blinked. He couldn't believe what had just happened. "Y-Yang? What are you doing here?"

"I was worried about you. Thought you'd go doing something reckless again." Yang replied. "Here, you forgot this."

Yang tossed Yun his skateboard. Yun caught it and gave Yang the thumbs-up sign. He also noticed that Yang had his rollerblades with him. Yun gave credit to the fact that Yang was a very fast runner - he could have ran without aid of rollerblades. That could only mean one thing.

"So you're taking me up on my offer?" Yun asked.

Yang shrugged.

The kids cheered. "Mr. Yun, you are the best! Can you and Mr. Yang show us some moves?"

Yun flipped his skateboard in his hand. "How about some skateboarding moves instead? I'll show you the style of Kung-Fu Skateboarding."
