"Rescue Mission" Yang raced frantically down the stairs with Tsuchin in tow. The white cat didn't understand the urgency of the situation but followed her pet anyway. Yun slept peacefully on the couch, his left limbs curled over the top of the sofa while his right limbs were sprawled out off the end. Amid his loud snoring and deep slumber, he failed to hear his younger brother's loud hissing of, "Aniki! Aniki! Wake up, aniki!" Yun continued to snore but now with a large grin on his face as if he was having a wonderful dream of skateboarding while being surrounded by a large horde of beautiful women. "Wake up, aniki! It's an emergency!" Yang shook his brother by the shoulders. This, too, went unnoticed as Yun merely muttered a, "It's too early..." and went back to sleep. "Aniki! I mean it!" Yang spearhanded Yun's head, only to have the elder brother dodge out of the way at the very last second in his sleep. Yang tried again and again, his hands moving so fast they were mere blurs, but each time Yun dodged out of the way, still in his sleep. Now, even Tsuchin was clawing at Yun's knees, to no avail of course. Finally, Yang had enough. He went behind the couch, folded his arms, and kicked it over. Yun fell on the floor with a great crash. "What the hell --" Yun rose to his feet and rubbed his head. He didn't have time to do much else as Yang grabbed him by the shoulders again. "Carolyn disappeared!" Yun blinked a few times. Yang rarely panicked so something definately had to be wrong. But it was too early and the elder brother's brain wasn't functioning properly. "She probably went for a walk. Relax already and go back to bed." "What sort of person exits through the window instead of the front door?" He had a point. "... You're shitting me." "There was a commotion in her room earlier." Yang looked to the side. "I went to check but she was gone. The window was open." "... You've gotta be shitting me." Yang shook his head. He said all that he needed to say. Yun frowned. There were only a few people, including the Lee twins themselves, who knew how to undo the lock on Yun's window from the outside. Rather, some group... "It's gotta be them. Dammit, I should've been more careful." He looked at Yang, his expression deadly serious. "We gotta rescue her." The younger brother returned the gaze, looking worried. "But aniki..." Yun cut him off. "I know it's a trap. But if we don't go, Carolyn's gonna be Triad fodder - you know that, Yang." 'I also know that this situation is hurting me more than anyone, aniki.' Yang thought. Outwardly, he nodded, then knelt to Tsuchin and stroked her back. "We'll be gone for awhile..." "Meow..." was the sad reply. Even she realized the seriousness of the situation. Yun had already gotten dressed while Yang spoke to his cat. Donning his trademark cap, he returned his attention to his younger brother. "Let's go."
It was dark. It was wet. Carolyn had never felt so dirty in her entire life. Wait, 'dirty' made her sound like a slut. She had never felt so clammy in her entire life. She was stripped of her precious bare essentials and bound and gagged to that same accursed chair. Triad flunkies watched over her like hawks. She closed her eyes. This was hopeless. She had never had a good life, so she thought. She was constantly berated by both her peers and her family that she would never have a good job. She would never be anything but a failure. Carolyn hoped to show them up when she finally worked her butt off to land herself a job in Interpol. But she was nothing more than a secretary. Then finally, she got her chance. She was assigned to take on a job in China. That is where she met the Twin Dragons. They seemed like two regular teenage boys. They were strong, carefree and lively... full of happiness and energy that Carolyn herself wished she had. She closed her eyes. All she could hear was a leaky pipe dripping and what appeared to be two thwocks - or whatever that sound effect was - and some men collapsing outside. 'Probably just my imagination. Even my wishful thinking...' Those hopes were shattered as the door clicked open and was immediately shut. Two shadowy figures came into the dim light. Carolyn opened her eyes, narrowing them and was about to hop excitedly and muffle some incoherent nonsense when her gaze laid upon those two people. The spikey-haired brother immediately set to work at untying her ropes while the cap-clad brother slowly peeled the tape off of her mouth. "Yun...? Yang...? What are you doing -- " "Ssh!" Yun tacked the tape back to her lips again. "Hmmmff! Mmmmf!" Carolyn squirmed, obviously wanting to say something substancial than idle threats. So, Yun took off her gag again. "Why are you two helping me? You two are Triad members yourselves." Yun looked at her, puzzled. "We are?" Yang gave him a look that was half worried, half saying, "Don't say any more," but never said anything out loud. "Don't try to fool me!" Carolyn screamed. She was obviously not trained for self control. "Kao Ta said that you two are his associates and --" Yun slapped a hand over her mouth. Forceful, but he had no choice. "Don't speak about that here, okay? It's a long story but we have nothing to do with them. Not anymore. I know you love to make a big show of yourself but be mature for once and keep quiet! Do you want the men in black to catch us?" "Quickly! This way!" voices commanded to others outside as rapid footsteps were heard coming closer. Yang grabbed Carolyn by the shoulders and helped her up while Yun took one of her hands and tugged. "C'mon! We got no time to waste." the elder brother hissed. Carolyn retracted her hand. "Just who do you think I am? I'm an agent of Interpol! I can handle myself just fine!" Yun slapped his head with his hand. Yang merely closed his eyes and exhaled. They could tell that this was going to be a long rescue mission. The men in black were about to approach the door. Yun pat Carolyn on the door. "Then do it your own way. We'll help you out but you can't let them see us!" "Good luck." Yang added as the brothers seemingly vanished into thin air. The door slammed open. Five men in black surveyed the area, two pulling guns and the other three raising their fists. They surveyed the area but in the dim light they could see nothing. "Looking for me?" spoke a female voice like she was about to laugh. When the men turned around, they didn't know what hit them. Carolyn tripped one of the unarmed men and came up with a rising double hand strike to another man, toppling him into the others. The fifth fired his gun, not caring where the random shot went. It missed. Carolyn grabbed the man by the wrist and kicked him in the groin, then threw him down and chopped him in the back of his neck while he was falling. 'All right, that was easy.' Carolyn looked around. There was one clear pathway ahead of her and behind her was nothing more than an empty room. Yun and Yang had vanished. 'I guess I'm on my own now. But damn, with the way they disappeared like that, you'd think they were ninjas.' She ran down the hall. She slinked along the walls, constantly looking behind her to see if anyone was coming. She had barely any clothing on and no gun. It was just her and her bare fists. This was so like out of a martial arts movie, it wasn't funny. And here she was, the star! What a rush. Carolyn eventually came to a fork in the path. The lights were way too dim so she had no idea what was down each road. "This way!" a voice hissed, followed by a hand beckoning for her to follow to the left path. 'That has to be Yun.' Carolyn thought, recognising Yun's hand, and followed. As she continued down the path, some footsteps were heard behind her. Carolyn instinctively dodged out of the way just in time to avoid a bullet. The man was now in sight but he was too far away for her to attack, plus he had already loaded his gun and was ready for another shot... Then, he fell over. He and his other two comrades. Yang appeared behind them, lowering what appeared to be a knifehand strike. "Yang..." Carolyn wondered aloud. Yun hissed at her again from where he was standing. "C'mon!" "All right, all right! You don't have to yell." Carolyn rolled her eyes and continued on. The brothers did their ninja vanishing trick again. The rest of the area wasn't too hard to follow. No more trick exits. Just a few more triad members who had no idea what the hell was going on until they met the end of Carolyn's fists. 'Imagine that, a huge Triad ring in the middle of nowhere, Hong Kong, with Kao Ta, one of the most powerful crime lords in Triad history! I could get a huge promotion. Fame! Fortune! It will be all mine! I just have to get out alive.' Then, another turn. 'Now, where do I go?' "Come this way." beckoned a voice very similar to Yun's but more softspoken. Carolyn looked to her right and noticed Yang gesturing towards her. But as she came towards him, he held out his hand to stop. "What...?" "Heyah!" Yun came zooming out of nowhere, rushing past Carolyn with a Zesho Hohou and knocked out a triad memeber that was right behind her and about to hit her with a baseball bat. Carolyn joined in the attack and soon those flunkies were out of the way as well. "Just a little further." spoke Yang. "Don't worry. You'll get that cushy job you've always wanted in no time." Yun grinned and then the brothers did that disappearing act again. Yun and Yang were right. As soon as Carolyn entered the next room, she saw what looked like an entrance. A front door. Salvation. 'I... I'm almost out! I can't believe it! I'll be rich! I'll be famous! I'll be...' "Kill her." Bang. '... loved...' Smoke billowed from the top of a silver pistol. As the man lowered it, the young woman's body came into view. She now lay on the ground, dead. Blood poured from her head and formed a lovely pool from where she lay. The man who gave the order - Kao Ta - stepped out of the shadows. He briefly placed a hand on the assassin. "Good work. We don't need Interpol interfering in our life any more than they already have." "What should we do with her body?" the man in black asked as many others like himself ran to her corpse. Kao Ta placed a hand to his chin. "Take her north and throw her body in the river. Write it off as an accident and bribe people if you have to. Interpol has one less member and a useless one at that." "Yes, sir." the man turned to leave. Yun and Yang arrived in the area - Yun behind a crate and Yang somewhere to the right of him behind some more crates - simultaneously, and saw several Triad flunkies carry Carolyn's still bleeding body away. 'Carolyn!' Yun clenched his fist. 'We were too late.' Yang thought, calmly grieving. Yun, however, took it the hard way. His emotions caught the better of him. Seething in anger at not being able to protect a beautiful young woman, he flew at Kao Ta with a Zesho Hohou. Kao Ta caught his fist. "Wha...?" The Triad Lord turned around and smiled venomously. "Well, well, well. I was wondering when Ms. Snap's associates would show up. Yun Lee, the talented Storming Dragon, I take it? Long time no see. I assume your brother is here as well." "You bas..." Yun spat but was slammed in the back of his neck before he could continue. He fell to the ground, unconscious. "Aniki!" Yang ran out to get his brother when suddenly, the crates surrounding him burst open. Several men in black ambushed him. One smacked him in the back of his neck and Yang, too, fell unconscious. Kao Ta turned to his flunkies. "Take them to custody. You know which ones I mean." The men collectively nodded. "Right away, sir." they spoke and dragged Yun and Yang away separately. Kao Ta smiled to himself. "You know what they say, Gen. No one can escape preordaned fate." |
