"Olivia Danger Safari" "Welcome!" The rough-haired black girl in the tan explorer clothes waved to the camera. "It's time for another journal of Olivia Danger Safari! We really have a wonderful show for all you Shadaloo animal lovers today, don't we, Mr. Tams?" The monkey on her shoulder, whom was wearing a mini-backpack at the time for extra supply storage, hopped up and down in agreement as one of Olvere's men saluted. "That's right, Miss Olivia!" "WOOOOOOO!!!" The second man next to him shouted. "Danger! Danger!" "Yesmen, Goodly, is our bait for today ready?" Olvere nodded to the two. "Why, of course it is, Miss Olivia!" Yesmen answered. "Yes! We're going to have a dang diddly do good time today!!!" Goodly waved his arms back and forth in front of the camera. "WOOOOOO!!!" "And a great good time today will be!" Olvere agreed. "Because today we have a special treat for all our viewers! We're going to be observing the soul bee! Yes!!!" "Danger!!!" Goodly proclaimed. "That is correct, Miss Olivia!" Yesmen added. "We're going to have to be careful with these creatures!" Olvere waved her hand. "These soul bees can suck out your soul from a mile away! Why, if we don't watch ourselves, their fearsome sting can cause us to bleed out! Isn't that right, Mr. Tams?" "Oooo eee ah!" The monkey screeched. "Of course, Miss Olivia!" "WOOOO! Danger, danger!!!" Olvere hopped from a bush to a tree then stuck her head out from behind it. "This is a forest closest to the remote town where they were supposedly last spotted! We have our bait of one fresh soul ready to draw one out!! Let's have a look! Jenkins!" "Got it, Olvere!" Jenkins, with the help of several others of Olvere's random generic cronies, pushed a cage with a native man in it. The man was really frightened, to say the least. "All right!" Olvere happily shouted as the cage was opened and the man was shoved out of it. "Our soul is here! Let's see if a soul bee takes the bait!! First, we must shout the call of the soul bee! This is a special language that male bees use to call female bees if they happen to stumble upon something that the hive would be interested in. Jenkins! Give the call!" "ME GUSTA!!!!" Jenkins shouted. "A soul bee should be here, any minute!" The leader pointed her spear to the air, then looked back at the camera. "Let's hide and see what happens!" "Yes, Miss Olivia!" Yesmen saluted. "WOOO!!!" Goodly screamed as he dived behind a bush. His head popped out from behind it and grinned. "Danger! Danger!" Everyone else soon joined him in concealment, throwing a large red and green net overthemselves, except the poor native who didn't know what was going on (besides the fact that he'd be shot by Olvere's men if he tried to escape). He looked around frantically then shuddered a little. Until a lady with wings buzzed over and landed next to him. An insect lady with wings. And a stinger. "Ah! We're in luck!" Olvere eagerly whispered to the camera. "That's a P Bee collector! A little known fact is that soul bees' ultravision can not see through certain colors, thus this camo net keeps us safely hidden from their view. And here we have a wonderful soul for her to collect! Let's watch!" The purple-haired bee girl looked quizzingly at the scared man, who lost his fear to curiosity as he stared back. "Observe as the soul bee judges the target and the value of his soul! Watch as those specially placed bulls eyes draw the bait in!" The man gazed at the two bullseyes on the female girl's chest, hypnotized, as the girl smiled at him, causing him to slowly smile back. Then her smile quickly transformed into a menacing sadistic grin. "She's going to strike!!! We can see the collecting of a soul in action!!" Olvere cheered while keeping her voice down as the man backed away in terror. "Isn't this exciting?!?" "WOOOO!! DANGER!!!" The bee leapt to strike! Her long nails dashing forward towards the horrified man and ready to reduce him to nothing but a bloody carcass that she would feast on! Olvere's group stared wide-eyed in awe and speculation as the man screamed. *BANG!* The bee slumped to the ground, which began to get stained with the blood coming from the bullet hole in her head. The group's anticipation changed to confusion and shock, then to dissappointment as Juni and several of her hunters walked into the clearing. "Wow! Great shot, Jettaron!!" Terrace glanced at the soul bee's corpse then held it up as its terrified almost-victim dashed away. "Blasted her brains clean out!" "Of course." Jettaron slyly smiled. "Did you honestly expect anything less?" Juni giggled as she leaned against Jettaron. "That was perfect!" "ARGH!!" Olvere scowled, then stomped up to her. "You again!? Do you know what you've done?!? You've ruined a perfectly good documentary!!" "Documentary?" Juni stared at Olvere. "I'm trying to prevent an incoming darkness from devouring the entire world here and all you care about is a documentary!? Why the heck would you need to do a documentary on soul bees, anyway?" "Lord Bison has taken an interest in Dark Stalkers and wants all the information he can get on them!" The other agent snapped in reply. "But you're getting in the way of that!" "IT'S A SOUL BEE!!!" Keeping her glare focused on Olvere, Juni angrily pointed to the corpse. "IT EATS SOULS! What the hell else do you need to know?!?" "Migrating habits, society habits, power levels," An extremely annoyed Olvere replied. "But we'll never find out any of it if you keep killing our damn nature's specimens!" "Just kill the dumb queen and you win. That's all you need to know!" The hunter leader scowled. She then smiled, leaned back, and closed her eyes. "Now darling, if you don't mind, I have some soul bee exterminating to do. The word on the network from the Baxter Communication Hunter Satellite CATASTROPHE is that there's a high price on the heads of soul bees, especially the queen, now that the Dark Messiah is being revived. And you can expect us to cash in on it." The black agent stared in shock as Juni motioned to the other hunters to leave. Several began to drag the soul bee corpse away until Olvere shouted. "Agent Juni! Wait!" Juni turned around and put her hands on her hips. "Oh?" The look in Olvere's eyes was part confusion, part worry, and a little part spite. "Aren't you worried about what happened to Avelle?" "Hmm." The female hunter grinned. "Olvere, darling, I AM Avelle. And no, I'm not worried. This is a generic hunter job. Not one that Lord Bison's paying for. And if I'm stepping on your toes, well, you'll be the one getting the heat for failing your mission, not me." "W... What!?" Anger quickly began to replace all the other emotions in Olvere's eyes as Juni continued to walk away. "How dare you!!!" Juni once again paused, shook her head, then looked back with an apologetic look on her face. "Agent Olvere, I'm sorry. Please find some other dark stalkers to document. I don't want to do this to you." With her fellow hunters looking at her asking her to get going finally, Juni ran off with the rest of them. The environmentalist agent stared after her, even more confused than ever. Although normally a sentence spoken with spite and sarcasm, Olvere said it with a frank and worried tone, and meant it. "Agent Juni, who do you think you are?" "Avelle!" Juni quickly ran to catch up to the short red-haired agent. Several other hunters were nearby on lunch break. Avelle frowned. "What is it, now?" "Maybe we were a bit too hard on Agent Olvere." The young blonde commented. "Maybe we should go hunt some other creatures or something until she's done with her mission." Avelle slapped her forehead. "I don't think the damn dark messiah will wait until Olvere's done with her mission. Look, this should be enough to convince you." She snapped her fingers and Terrace came running over. The hunter in the red jacket grinned. "Hey Juni, what's up?" "Terrace!" She put her hand out. "May I have the current up-to-date price chart on soul bees, please?" "Sure thing!" Terrace saluted and handed Juni a piece of paper, then ran off. Juni stared wide-eyed at the numbers. "Um... wow, that's... a lot of money. Yipe!" "You see?" The paper was snatched away from her by her mentor. "If you really want to be like me, you have to become famous. And you're not going to become famous by taking pathetic small time bounties, are you?" "I... guess not." "Good." Avelle slowly smiled. "Now anyway, where were we?" "We're back!" Olvere greeted to the camera. "Special thanks to our sponsor, Professor Irvine. And speaking of which, what luck!!! We have happened to come across a male soul bee drone!!!" "WOOOO!!" Goodly shouted. "Danger, danger!" "Not quite, my good man." The black agent happily pushed the bushes aside to reveal a short but plump being who looked like a man in a big bumblebee costume. "Male soul bees are quite harmless, actually. They exist only so the others can get zee mate. Let's see what this fellow is up to!" Olvere spun around then skipped over to the male soul bee, with Goodly dancing after her and waving to the camera. The surprised bee looked around, then looked up at them. "Hola?" The camera was focused on the pioneer leader once again. "A little known fact about male soul bees which even they don't know is that the rest of the hive doesn't care for them very much. Rumour has it that soul bees are slowly developing asexual reproduction and when this happens, the need for all male soul bees as well as male bees themselves will slowly dissappear!! Isn't that interesting? Watch!" She bopped the bee man lightly on the head with her spear handle. "Oi!!!!" The bee screamed. "Mi Cabeza!!!! No es bueno!! Aye carumba!" "You will see that this particular male bee is now screaming for help." Olvere remarked to the camera, her spear handle continueing to bop the poor bee man repeatedly on the head. "Yet no help comes for him. Apparently the Hive already sees their males as useless, and thus they won't come to save this poor little fellow, proving the rumour." "That must be it, Olivia!" Yesmen nodded. "The fact that this rumour is correct means that we won't have to worry about retribution from the rest of the hive." She smiled. "But if this male bee were to give the call that he stumbled upon a soul for the rest of the hive to collect, they'd be here in a second! Isn't that exciting?!?" "YES!!!" Goodly proclaimed. "WOOO! DANGER DANGER!" A shout from the bushes interrupted the program. "Another one! Kill it!!!" Terrace leapt out from behind the bush with his big ass sword and dashed straight towards the male soul bee, who screamed in terror. "AYE CARUMBA!!!" The bee shot off with Terrace chasing after him. "No es bueno!" Olvere sighed as several more hunters ran onto the scene. "Why won't you go away?" "Why won't you?" Juni grinned. "I already told you that we're not leaving. Due to the rumours, male drone bees don't bring in as much money, but a dollar is a dollar, after all." "Come back here!" Terrace yelled, still chasing after the bee in several large circles, who was screaming several obscenities in male soul bee language as he ran. "Don't you have any sense of loyalty at all?" The environmental team leader snapped. "Lord Bison's commands take priority over your stupid monetary greed!" "Lord Bison... I..." Her demeanor suddenly changing, Juni paused, before regaining her composure and grin. "Ha. Olvere, darling, if it means so much to you, and since it obviously means so much to me, perhaps we should have a little contest to see who gets claim to this job. Maybe a quick one on one match?" Jenkins, one of Olvere's men, grabbed the other agent from behind. "Olvere, don't do it. Juni has a seventy-eight percent efficiency rating, which is five percent more than your's." Olvere responded by gently pushing him aside. "Five percent isn't too big a difference. If worse comes to worse, I'll just call Tams into the fight to make up the margin." "We have no worries with Miss Olivia!" Yesmen remarked. "YES!" Goodly added. "We're going to have a dang goodly diddly do time with this!" "AYE CHIHUAHUA!" The male soul bee shouted as he ran by again with Terrace still chasing him. "I can't believe you're making me do this, Avelle." "Juni, darling, is this about Lord Bison? We're doing him a
favor. There isn't any time for information gathering. We have
to act now or it will be too late." The spear spun in a circle, was thrown upwards into the air, then Olvere gave it a couple quick stabs forward before holding it upright and leaning back in her fighting stance. "For real, right?" With her left hand on her hip, Juni nodded. "Good luck, Olvere." Jenkins and Jettaron both shot their guns into the air, signaling the
beginning of the battle.
The black agent started with a fast turn-around hop before spinning her spear at an upwards angle directly towards Juni. The blonde agent quickly managed to put up a small psycho shield which blocked the attack and repelled Olvere a large distance away. Olvere stared with surprise at the girl, who was now at the far end of the battlefield away from her. Avelle, who was also watching the battle, slowly smiled. "Interesting. Darling, you know, if you combined that psycho shield move with my projectile attack expertise, it would be quite the potent combination." "Avelle, I'm handling this, myself." Juni muttered under her breath. "Whatever you say then." Avelle shrugged. Deciding to stage her next assault from above, Olvere quickly leapt into the air. "YAAAAAH!!!" She screamed as she came downwards with a fast cannon dive attack supplemented by her long-range melee weapon. Juni quickly mach slided out of the way, then after Olvere spiked the ground where she once stood, ducked and punched Olvere hard in the back. Olvere almost stumbled into the audience from the impact of the blow before she turned around, a bit frustrated. Her pet monkey, apparently taking notice, quickly leapt onto her shoulder. "Psycho Spiral!" Olver dashed at Juni with her spear, which had become enveloped in a small field of purple energy. Juni once again used her psycho shield push-block to repel Olvere away but the minute Olvere's spear connected with the shield, her pet monkey Tams leapt off of her shoulder and into the air. And right onto Juni's face the second Juni's shield dissipated. "EEEEE AAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!" Tams screeched as he grabbed hard onto Juni's head. "HEY!!!" Juni shouted, or tried to shout as much as she could from behind the clinging monkey. Olvere used the oppurtunity to quickly stab Juni with her spear handle then, as Tams leapt out of the way and back onto her shoulder, smack Juni in the face with it before kicking Juni hard with a roundhouse kick. Juni slammed into the ground right at Avelle's feet. The red-haired hunter leader looked down at her, smiled, and shook her head. "Juni, dear, perhaps you should let me handle this. The battle seems to have taken a turn for the worse." Juni stared upwards at Avelle, sighed, then nodded. "Ah, excellent, then!" She quickly leapt to her feet and drew her gun. Spinning the gun around, she put her hands on her hips and grinned towards Olvere. "Playtime's over, darling." Olvere blinked at her sudden change in demeanor. "Huh?" Avelle fired an arcing exploding shell at Olvere, which slammed into Olvere and knocked her back. She quickly got up and Tams leapt off of her shoulder as Olvere dashed towards Avelle with another psycho spiral spear assault. The red-haired hunter leader just barely leapt back out of the way in time to avoid Olvere's attack as Tams pulled a boomerang out of his mini-backpack and darted it towards Avelle. Olvere once again leapt into the air and executed a cannon dive assault with her spear, while Avelle did the same thing Juni did and used Juni's mach slide to dash through it. Before she could counter-attack, though, Tam's boomerang came flying back and slammed into Avelle's legs, sweeping her off her feet. Avelle cringed as Tams leapt back onto Olvere's shoulder. "You know, that damn monkey is ridiculously annoying. I thought this was a one on one match." "It is." Olvere smiled. "Off the battlefield, Tams is a beloved companion and friend. But on it, he's an extension of my abilities. A weapon, no different than my spear or your gun." Watching from the sidelines, Juni didn't even want to begin to think of how Professor Irvine would try to analyze THAT particular sentence. Avelle and Olvere backed off and prepared to resume the battle until that little bee man came bursting out of the underbrush with Terrace still chasing after him. "I got you now!!!" Sheathing his big-ass sword, Terrace dived for the bee in an attempt to grab him. The bee quickly took off to the air as much as he could, but Terrace managed to catch his legs just a little. Losing balance, the bee slipped out of Terrace's grip, flew into the air, and came crashing down until Juni caught him. He happily looked up at his pretty savior and smiled. "ME GUSTA!!!!!!" His shout echo'd throughout the entire forest. In the silence that followed, everyone blinked. Surprised. Then several (Like, about a hundred) buzzing noises began to be heard in the distance. The bee leapt out of Juni's arms and scampered off. Several of the various men screamed. "AAAAAAAAH!!!" "Well now," Olvere worriedly looked up to the sky as the buzzing became louder. "The female soul bees no longer care about getting a mate now that asexual production is possible for the hive. That would definately be information that Shadaloo might find to be relevant. A little known fact though is that they still use what males are left as unwilling scouts. But now that the male drone has declared his happiness, they realize something must be up and now they are coming to devour our souls!!! This is really bad. It's a catastrophe!!! Considering the fighting prowess of these insects, they will most likely kill us all!" She turned to the camera and smiled. "Isn't that exciting?!?" Juni stared in shock at Olvere, then looked pleadingly at Avelle. "Oh no! Now what are we going to do!?" All of the hunters were equally confused. Several looked extremely worried as high above, many black buzzing dots began to collect together. Avelle quickly addressed them all. "Don't worry, I can think of a way out of this..." "But wait!" Olvere continued to the camera. "This is our perfect chance to finally see the soul bee soul collecting habit that was so rudely interrupted last time we got the chance!! And here we have a whole group of souls just waiting to be collected! Jenkins!!! The camo nets!!!!" "What?!" Juni glared at Olvere, but she was already gone.
"You're abandoning us?!?" Avelle looked at him, and smiled. She also had to raise her voice to be heard about the buzzing. "Why, that's absolutely fabulous, darling!" Juni stared at her like she was insane. Grinning, Avelle helded up a bottle of oil. "A little known fact about soul bee camo nets is that if you splash a bit of oil over the right corner, like this, then kick it, LIKE THIS, the thing comes flying off." She kicked the camo net hard and the thing flew up into the sky, but didn't come back down after it got tangled up in the trees. Olvere and her men stared wide-eyed at Avelle. Avelle smiled back at them. "Isn't that exciting?!?" "Avelle! You're going to leave her to die!?" Juni quickly caught up with Avelle once again. "We can't!" Avelle wasn't paying attention to her, though. No one else was, either. They all simply stared upwards at what appeared to be a gigantic floating black beehive. Several soul bees were still flying out of the hive and over to where the call was sounded. "That's it!" Jonas stared at the hive while Jettaron readied his gun. "They're distracted and their defense is gone! We can move in and take out the queen now!" Avelle stared at Juni in an "I told you so" kind of way. All of the hunters prepared to assault the hive by first shooting it down before boarding until Juni finally shouted to get their attention. "NO! We're going back!!" They all quickly looked at her in surprise. Avelle slapped herself
in the forehead then turned towards her troops. "We are NOT going
back!! Continue with the assault!" "But..." Juni stuttered. "What about Lord Bison... I can't value this hunter job higher than a mission for Lord Bison!" "Do we have to have this talk again!?" Avelle glared at Juni.
"You know, this is seriously becoming extremely annoy..." The two stared at him in surprise and both had the same response. "WHAT?!?" A scream of pain was heard in the background as Olvere parried another blow from the soul bee female that was assaulting her. She closed her eyes and turned away from the sight of another one of her men getting ripped to shreds, opting to fight her soul bee foe blinded, knowing that if she continued to watch, she'd be even more handicapped by the trauma. Which... definately was not right for an agent of death like herself. Opening her eyes when she was sure her face was turned away from the death, she dodged another blow from her attacker and thrust her spear forward, hoping to catch the soul bee in the counterattack. And missed. A searing pain shot through her as the female soul lady stabbed her claws straight into Olvere's side. Olvere stared straight ahead, wide-eyed, until the bee ripped her claws out of her target, causing Olvere to fall to the ground. The agent slowly looked up, seeing the bee preparing for the killer blow, Some elite assassin of Bison you are, Olivia... until it's head was pounded by a dive kick from above. The angry bee girl got up and glared at Juni, then prepared to strike until Juni whipped out her gun and shot it in the head. She quickly put the gun away, then helped Olvere up. "Agent Olvere, I'm so sorry about this." Olvere wasn't sure whether she was thankful, frustrated, or angry with Juni, or whether she was just going to faint from bloodloss. She heard about Juni's psychic healing abilities of course but they weren't anywhere near as good as Noelle's and rumour was that Juni could only use them while her partner was around, anyway. Before she passed out as Juni was bandaging her, she thought she heard Juni talking to another girl who sounded just like Avelle about how they needed to retreat, but that other person said they couldn't yet for some reason. Then everything went black. Terrace grinned as he put his arm around the soul bee female. "Is that ultravision you have or are you just happy to see me?" "Heehee!" The insect girl giggled. The hunter swung his big ass sword with his free arm to smack away another bee that leapt at him, then continued the conversation. "So, what's your name?" Her attennae twitched a bit. "Your name is #103? I must say, that's a beautiful number for a beautiful name." Terrace coolly commented, arm still around her as he put his sword out to impale another incoming attacking soul bee. The girl smiled, then looked at him questioningly. "Hungry?" Terrace returned the smile. "I see. You need a soul, huh? I'm sorry, but I need to keep mine intact. A soul is much more beautiful in its natural body and habitat, don't you agree?" She became even more puzzled, before she nodded and hugged him. *BANG!* Terrace glanced at the dead soul bee that was just shot that was behind him, then glared at Jettaron. "Dammit, Jettaron! You almost hit #103!" "Terrace, what the hell are you doing?" Jettaron snapped. "What does it look like I'm doing?" The silly hunter replied, with the female soul bee still happily clinging to him. "I'm trying to have a decent conversation with this lovely lady here." #103 hugged him tighter. Jettaron sighed then pointed his gun at the soul bee clinging onto the other hunter. Terrace shook his head and gently pushed her off of him. "Well, I'm sorry, I gotta get going. My e-mail is terrance@springtime.net. Message me sometime, okay?" She laughed in response, nodded to him, then flew off. Jettaron pointed his gun up in the air then quickly fired again at another different incoming soul bee that was trying to devour Terrace's soul. "Dammit, Terrace, are you paying attention?" Terrace nodded. "Of course! It's just that I know that you can't shoot her while you're trying to protect my keister. Thanks!" Jettaron slapped himself in the forehead, then angrily yanked Terrace away. He dragged the hunter back to Juni and saluted. "We're ready! Let's get out of here!" Borrah was pounding a few bees nearby. "Borrah Borrah Borrah!!!" His targetted soul bee flew right past Avelle as she fired some more shots at some incoming random targets, then she looked at Jettaron and nodded before shouting to everyone else. "Everyone, retreat!!" It was a rather grim scene back at the Shadaloo airbase #39. Even on the field, medics ran to and fro trying to fix up the wounded from the angry soul bee assault. But there was an extreme shortage of medics at the time, due to a huge military loss that Shadaloo supposedly suffered somewhere off in Asia. Olvere's group had suffered an extreme amount of casualties, while Juni's, who had struck at the right time and were trained to handle paranormal beings, only suffered minor wounds on various people. Olvere had managed to regain consciousness and was already looking like she was in much better shape than most of her men, though she still needed the bandages. For some reason that Juni couldn't fathom, Shadaloo agents seemed to recover a bit faster than most other people. Maybe it was all those rations. Although physically Olvere had pretty much recovered, emotionally, the pain had only begun. "He died before we even got him here." The medic stated as he stood over the corpse. "That would be the eighth one so far." Olvere slowly looked at the dead soldier. "J... Jen... kiiiiiiiiins......." The agent put her hand on him, kneeled down, and began crying. Juni stared in surprise, a bit stunned, as Avelle walked up from behind her. "Darling, what's wrong now? I thought you accepted death as a way of your life. Considering that your favorite commander in history besides Bison was responsible for the slaughter and death of millions, this should be insignificant." "Avelle, I... I feel sorry for Agent Olvere, though." Avelle shook her head. "Is that it?" "Oh?" All Juni got in reply was Avelle's trademark calm grin. "Darling, is it? You made his death in vain." "Huh?" The blonde agent looked back over the wide amount of death that occurred
from the fiasco. "It's... my fault?" "But... Lord Bison...." Juni stuttered, before she quickly got a look of shock on her face. "Oh my gosh! Lord Bison! If he hears about this..." Juni quickly looked around, but Avelle was gone. Olvere, though, apparently heard what she said. The black agent stared at Juni, with exhaustion and sadness in her eyes more than anger. "Agent Olvere, I..." "Know that I'll be the one getting the heat for failing the mission?"
Olvere interrupted. "I won't tell. I guess there's no point
anymore..." "Oh nevermind." Terrace muttered as he handed Juni a bunch of printed-out papers. "Anyway, it's the soul bee tour guide and handbook to the hive. I figured that your friend might want it." Juni looked at the large batch of papers, then handed them to Olvere. After that, she turned around to look at Avelle, who was back, and smiled to her. "You see, that wasn't pointless at all." Avelle simply frowned as Olvere fiddled through the papers. The somewhat saddened agent looked up from the papers and at Juni. "Agent Juni... thanks... I think. I need to get back to Mrigranka. The medical facilities here are inadequate." "Oh right." Juni replied. "I'll..." With that, she walked off as Juni watched. In the background, Avelle began calculating the price check on the amount of soul bee corpses that were gathered. |
