Juli and Juni Chapter 10

"Yamoto Love"

There     she      stays,

He hopes that there's a way,

perhaps a possible way.

Will    I     say,

That she won't come back today?

That there's no possible way.

Because that's what we're here for,

That's why we fight forever more,

If only I could be with you...

Will the bird ever fly again?

Can it forever ever be changed?

Will she never be with you?

Juli noticed that he was there again.  Every once in a while Bremare Yamoto would sneak out and catch the agent training sessions and look into the dojo where the agents were training from behind the big glass window.  It had to do with his own infatuation that if he could have helped it, he would have been a secret agent instead of a scientist.  However, he didn't attend just the general training evaluation sessions.  Every once in a while, the crazy doctor would view the private sessions too.  Of course, very few agents bothered to use their free time for private training sessions.  There were a few exceptions though, with Juli being one of them.  Which was why she was here right now, although since she had finished training for the day she figured she might as well give Bremare some company and sat down next to him.  The other... was someone that Juli did not get along very well with.

Agent Fenrir, victim of always being cannon-drilled by Juli's partner during general training sessions, had in fact taken to private training sessions long before Juni came along.  Normally, she would just practice random weapons maneuvers with a random weapon, though recently she had taken a liking to specifically swords ever since seeing a security video of a certain Shadaloo sword wielding nutcase named Himura Shidoshi carve up some poor sap who thought he could infiltrate Shadowlaw's main base, Mrigranka, a while ago.

Today Fenrir wasn't training with a training dummy or just practicing maneuvers, though.  She was training with another agent.  An agent which Juli thought she recognized but she couldn't place her finger on it.  Perhaps it was an agent that Juli knew then lost her memory about.  This particular agent had a somewhat similar circular hair style to Fenrir, although she had a short tail in her hair.  In this particular match, she was using nunchuks against Fenrir's sword skills.  Fenrir parried, then thrust forward, then backflipped out of the way of the counter-attack as the two silently battled on.  Juli wasn't even sure if she was using a real sword or a practice one.

The silence was soon interupted as Janet walked onto the training floor.  "What are you doing?"

"Special training session."  Fenrir smiled.  "It helps me keep in shape."

"Why did you let Aurora out?"  The female doctor with the two braids in her hair pointed to the other agent.  "You know how dangerous she is."

"Hmm..."  Aurora put the nunchuks away.  "Doctor Janet, is there something going on that I'm not aware of?  You seem worried."

The sword was put away by Fenrir, too.  "Even when Aurora isn't acting at peak efficiency, she still has a seventy-five percent rating.  Though I would prefer the condition that would give me the one hundred twenty-five percent version to fight against."

"A hundred-twenty five percent version?"  The other agent was somewhat confused.

"Dammit."  Janet muttered.  "She doesn't even know why she's here right now.  Just remember to put her back when you're done.  I'd better go get the Aurasia shots ready just in case."

As she turned around to leave, Aurora interrupted her.  "WHY DO YOU NOT FEAR?!?"

Janet quickly paused.  "Huh?"

*WHAM!!!!*

A hard crack of the nunchuks sent Janet flying forward and slamming into the wall.  She slowly fell to the ground after which she muttered, "Ow..."

Aurora turned around to face Fenrir.  "IT WAS YOU, WASN'T IT!?  WHY DO YOU TRY TO TAKE DRAGON EYES AWAY?  DO YOU NOT FEAR?!?!?"

This prompted a grin in the recipient of the shouts as she re-armed her sword.  "Well now, now things can get interesting."

The crack of the nunchuks sounded through the air, almost like a whip as Aurora lashed out at Fenrir.  The other agent blocked it, but wasn't able to keep her grip as it sent her sword flying through the air.  Fenrir quickly leapt back and caught it before it could hit the ground, before cannonball flipping towards Aurora in hooligan combo with her sword spinning as she did.  As she neared Aurora, she slashed forward with her sword, but Aurora simply cracked the nunchuks again knocking Fenrir out of the move and causing her to fly back and hit the floor.

"You idiot!"  Janet screamed as she stumbled to her feet.  "Quick!  Sound the alarm."

"I can handle this!"  Fenrir yelled back as Aurora blocked her cannon spike.  As she rebounded back, she backed up and glanced at the extremely peeved off Aurora.  "Well, actually, I probably can't, but if I don't put any effort into my routine, my skills will never improve."

"THE GRAVITY SHALL TAKE YOU TO A HIGHER LEVEL OF IMPROVEMENT!"   Aurora yelled as she cracked the nunchuks hard, knocking Fenrir back into a wall.  "YOU MUST FEAR!!!"

"OW!"  Fenrir put her hand to her cheek where Aurora whipped her with the nunchuks.  She quickly put her sword up to parry the next incoming blow but the sword simply snapped in half upon facing the wrath of the S&M attack, causing Fenrir to stare at it in surprise.  "Oooookay... this isn't good."

"AH HA!"  Aurora happily proclaimed.  "YOU FEAR!  YOU SHALL RECIEVE THE GIFT OF S&M!"

"Just great..."  The nunchuks cracked into the air again as Fenrir ducked.  They were about to come cracking down again when a shout from Bremare distracted Aurora for a moment.

"The Italians!!!"

"WHAT?"  Aurora quickly turned around.

"The Italians are coming!"  Bremare cried.  "Quick!  Aurora!  You must save Stalin's candy of the arctic circle FROM THEY WHO DO NOT FEAR!"

"ARGH!  DOES NOT FEAR!"  Aurora frowned and ran up to Bremare, who was also with Juli at the time.

"Watch out!"  Juli shouted.  "You need to take this because it's FILLED WITH DELICIOUS CANDY!"

Juli quickly handed the confused Aurora a pill as Bremare added, "YES!  Swallow it before those darn cursed Italians get it!!!  Stalin's arctic candy must not be allowed to fall into their hands!"

"THE WORK OF THE BATTOSAI MUST BE DONE!"  Aurora quickly swallowed the pill, then paused and glanced around for a moment, paying special attention to the beat and whipped Fenrir and the somewhat anxious Janet.  She slowly calmed down.  "Hmm... I... did it again, didn't I?  Well now, that was probably interesting.  I apologize for what I did."

Of course, in her head she was thinking something else.

"OhmyfukinggodwhatthehellwasthatwhatthehelldidIdoFEARhuhwhatohcrapthatwasstrangewhatiswrongwithmeaaaaaaaaaah!"

Aurora blinked.

As Janet and Fenrir carefully escorted her away, Juli paused.  "How did I remember how to handle Agent Aurora?  I mean, I'm certain that if I didn't know before hand, I would have never known that she liked delicious candy or whatever the hell I said."

"You've done it before."  Bremare stated.  "You don't remember?  Course, Aurora dissappeared last I checked."

Juli decided to stay alone in the training room just a bit longer after Bremare left.  Just to have a little thinking time to herself.

A defective doll.  One whom I wasn't even supposed to remember existed.  I wonder what will happen to her, now that she is garbage.  No... she isn't garbage.  She's been kept around.  Somewhere out there someone must care for her for her to still be here.  It's like how Bremare cares for my partner, Juni.  Is that what makes us more than just mere puppets?  Maybe it's what makes us human.

She ran to catch up with Bremare to find him talking with her partner.  Juni was smiling but a hint of worry came onto her face the instant Juli caught up to them.

Juni paused.  "Oh, hey Juli.  Um... I heard that Dr. Yamoto watched the private training sessions and... eep!  What I mean, was, I decided that maybe I could use some more training like you do all the time."

The sudden nervousness in her was easily evident.  That and Juni rarely did bother to take time off to do extra training rounds.

Bremare glanced at his watch.  "Oh, I'm sorry, Juni, I'd really love to stay and watch, as stalkative as that sounds, but I have an important meeting to attend."

"Oh?"  Juni became dissappointed.  "Oh, well, okay.  Good day then, Bremare."

Bremare quickly dashed off as Juni sighed.

Her partner spoke up when Bremare was gone.  "You're not going to do any private training sessions now, huh?"

"......."  Juni closed her eyes.  "J... Juli?  How did you get to meet Bremare?  Erm, I mean, Dr. Yamoto?"

Juli looked at her and smiled.  It was pretty obvious that despite not having known Bremare "in the past" so to speak, that Juni was able to see that Bremare cared about her.

"Bremare and I... we met under pretty special circumstances.  After all, agents weren't meant to socialize with members of the science department unless necessary, like with Agent Marzche and Agent Serina."   She closed her eyes.  "You know about Cammy being Bison's personal bodyguard, of course.  We all hate her now."

"Right... Cammy..."  Juni nervously made a sideways glance.

"It could have been me."  Juli sighed.  "There was only one last mission I had to do.  If I succeeded, then I could have been the one that would have been forever by Bison's side.  But it was an impossible mission.  A mission to terminate Agent Avelle for her betrayal."

"But Juli..."  Something was really bothering Juni, and by this time Juli had begun to suspect it was beyond Juni being worried that Bremare and her partner were a couple.  "Avelle didn't betray Shadaloo.  She still did jobs for them, and never really did anything against them."

"And she charged Shadaloo for it."  Juli snapped.  "Obviously she cared more about her money than Shadowlaw and Lord Bison."

"What if she... just enjoyed doing what she did?"

"Look, let's not talk about this, okay?"  The brunette wasn't very happy with the current subject.  "Next thing I know, you're going to be lecturing me about how Cammy is a godsend to Shadaloo."

"Well..."

"Anyway,"  Juli continued, "I was sent to terminate her along with some back-up.  It was just Bess and Fokken, given the job of getting past Avelle's entire troupe of skilled hunters.  But by the time I had managed to infiltrate Avelle's group and get to her by herself, I was the only one left.  We had a one-on-one battle for a while until Avelle got in a lucky shot, which almost killed me right there.  But I was able to knock her into the running river and send her falling down a waterfall before losing consciousness."

She sighed.

"I couldn't verify Avelle's death.  I'm positive she survived, in fact.  When I got back, my reward was nothing but the ultimate punishment.  Bison chose Cammy as his personal body-guard, and all I got was to get denounced by Agent Fenrir about how I was worthless.  But Bremare... Bremare was there for me..."  Juli opened her eyes and frowned.  "I still need to finish that mission, by the way.  I've sadly let Avelle's little Springtime last for too long."

"You're... going to go back to terminate Avelle?"  Juni asked.

Her partner stood up.  "Of course.  It's too late to make things better for me, but that doesn't excuse me from leaving the job unfinished."

"Juli, please don't!"  The young girl pleaded.  "What about me?"

Juli glared at her a little.  "What about you?  Please don't tell me that you're more loyal to Avelle than Lord Bison.  I've been told that you joined Avelle's group.  I know that you've seen her."

"I...  I'm not loyal to Avelle.  I'm... loyal to myself."  Juni stutterred.

"Then there's no problem, is there?"  The other agent smiled again.  "Don't worry about it too much.  I'll be handling Avelle, myself.  Right now, you have other things to worry about, such as Bremare and I."

The sudden statement surprised Juni for a moment, before she looked downwards.  "It's that obvious, huh?  But Bremare was your good friend long before he was mine..."

"We're just friends, Juni.  I know that Bremare really likes you.  In fact, he told me, himself."

"Really?"

"You two shouldn't be kept apart like this."  Juli crossed her arms, closed her eyes, and smiled.  "When Bremare's meeting is over, we can talk to him and you can ask him, yourself."

Juni smiled, then hugged her partner.  "Thanks, Juli!!!"

"Haha, it's okay!"

Juli figured seeing Bremare and Juni being together was enough.  Because it showed that Juni really was special.  Which meant that she was special, too.

Unknown to the two, a certain agent of with a feather in her hair and a vest was watching the two when Juni hugged her partner.

Agent Desire blinked, then proceeded to continue writing the essay that she hoped to someday present to her Lord Bison.  "It's so obvious!  Juni and Julia were meant for each other... but they're both denying it.  This... this can't be that healthy.  Don't either of those two understand?  Soulmates are meant for each other, but there are two halves to every type of fullness that they bring.  Only one of those halves is emotional, but the other half is physical.  If the two can not support each other's physical needs, which they obviously have and desire judging from the passionate embrace that I am bearing witness to right now, then the relationship will only be half-fulfilled and the empty part shall taint it like a poison.  Because that..."

"ZAT IS ZEE WAY!!!!!"

One of the first things Juni and I heard when we reached the science discussion room that Bremare currently was at was Professor Irvine's cheer.  It was soon followed by an ensuing groan from Doctor Janet.

"Ugh, Irvine, what is it this time?  Let me guess, something Freudian happened again."

"YES!!"   Irvine screamed, bursting with delight.  "I AM SZO HAPPY!!!  Our male auzority figure has done it!  Finally zee commander represses his true nature no more and succumbs to the seduction of zee prospect of zee authority figure as zee
mate.  He haz accepted the complex most Oedipal and he knowz that it is zee way!!!  With zee power of zee Freud, zee mate, and zee female authority figure of zee Rose by his size, zee world shall be his oyster!!  It ez times like zis I am honored to say
Freud is proven right yet again!!!!"

Juli paused.  "Did he say Rose?"

Before she could even think about the answer to that question, however, Janet's reaction came again, this time in the form of a really loud and surprised yell.

"WHAT?!?!?"

Juni and Juli glanced at each other, wondering what was going on in there.  Several different various but impossible-to-make-out shouts came from the room, and the two were able to pick out the voices of Bremare's, Senoh's, and perhaps some other random scientists, and even Marzche's and Serina's voices, also, before they were able to hear Irvine's voice rise about it all.

"Are you INZANE!?  You can't go repress zee Freud!!!!!"

"GET OUT!!!!"  Janet's extremely aggravated voice resonated.

The door was kicked open and the whole bunch of various scientists and professors besides Janet were booted out.  Irvine quickly got up and brushed himself off before shouting at no one in particular, "FOOLZ!!!!  Why do you go against zee auzority figure!?  Zat ez not zee way!"

"That... was certainly interesting."  Bremare commented as he got up, too.  He quickly noticed the two 'sister' agents in front of him.  "Oh, Juli, Juni, ah... I guess the meeting's over now.  Is there something you wanted to talk to me about?"

I figured that most likely Juni at this point wouldn't know what to say, and it'd be up to me to get the ball rolling.  Which felt a bit awkward, because normally I'd expect it to be the other way around since Juni was actually more sociable than I am.

"Bremare, it's Juni... ah... she..."

"Hi, Dr. Yamoto!"  Juni happily beamed.  "I wanted to thank you... for... well, you know.  And I was wondering if you'd like to... um... we could go some place really nice, tonight?"

Sometimes you get what you expect.  That's why you expected it in the first place, I guess.

Juli blinked, then shrugged.  "Whatever works, I guess..."

Bremare blinked, a bit clueless, but a bit not.  "Some place nice, tonight?"

"Zome place nice tonight?"  Irvine glanced at Bremare and Juni, and was soon joined by all of the other scientists, and even Janet, Marzche, and Serina, whom had just exitted the room.

The somewhat embarassed young scientist glanced over to his co-workers, then looked back at Juni.  "Oh, sure!  But... we really should talk about this somewhere else..."

Juni quickly looked at all of the other people who were staring.  "Ack!  Doh!  Yea, of course.  Oops, sorry to be bothering you, Dr. Yamoto.  Um... I'll see you later today and we can talk about it some more."

With that, the embarassed agent quickly ran off.  Juli shook her head at the sillyness of the entire thing, before Irvine once again broke everyone's ear drums with another cheer.

"ZOUNDS!!!!!  Zis is truly a WONDERFUL day for Freud and for hisztory!!!"

"Dammit, Freud was a nut."  Bremare scowled.  "What is it this time?"

"Oh, you try to repress it, but can you not zee even now how Freud haz been proven right?!?"  Irvine grinned.  "You are zee representative of zee fatherly figure for zee month of June as you were zee one zat vas put in charge of her!!

"W... what?"  Bremare blinked, then glared at Irvine.  "That's not true!  And she doesn't know that!"

"Sheesh, Dr. Yamoto, you know where she came from, right?"  Janet remarked.  Juli then noticed Janet taking a quick sideways glance towards her before addressing Bremare again.  "Do you not remember how you partook of the creation of a forgery which you now are so attached to?  Agent Juni would really dislike the forgery if she found out you owned it and it would devalue your copy rather greatly."

That damn language of the birds again.  Of course, this time Juli and apparently Bremare too knew perfectly what the double meaning was about.  Janet sadly didn't appreciate how a simple doll like Juni would have someone who cared for her.

"Er..... um.... yea, I know, but... so?"  Bremare was having trouble trying to cope with it then come up with his own double meaning response.  "There's an... erm, intrinsic value in this forgery which I'm sure Juni will appreciate and will never go down in value."

Not bad.  Apparently hanging around Janet, Irvine, and Senoh for a while now has helped him out.  If Juli didn't know what was going on, she would have never been able to figure that out.  It was basically Bremare saying that he cares for Juni despite her being a clone.

"Ooooooooo,"  Serina beamed.  "Dr. Yamoto and Agent Juni are in love!  That's so sweet!  That's like, really nifty and it just gives me a really big warm and fuzzy feeling since Dr. Yamoto seemed to have... um... well, Juni did... hmm.  Dr. Yamoto, why are you and Juni in love?"

"Do I have to answer that?"  Bremare replied, rather uncomfortable at being the center of everyones' attention.

"Oh yea!"  Serina piped.  "Now I remember!  No, you don't have to answer.  I remember overhearing how Dr. Yamoto met Agent Juni in a dream a long time ago and it was really nifty since he envisioned her but Juni wasn't even here yet and he always dreamt up her and the two together and just knew her name would be Juni and oh so wonderful stuff like that which would make Lord Bison just so proud as dreams are real freudian and because Lord Bison always likes emulators of the freudian cause since he's Freudian Mike from Oedipal Pike which just makes everything really nifty, oh yes it does!"

"Eh eh eh?"  Irvine looked around, then shook his head at Yamoto.  "Zere you go, zere is overwhelming evidence for zee great truth zat is Freud, so who is foolish enough to transgress into dissent?"

"SHUT UP!!!!"  Bremare screamed.  "I am not Freudian!  Freud is a nutcase!!  YOU ARE A NUTCASE!!!!"

Everyone was taken quite off guard by Bremare's shout as he glared at Irvine.  Irvine stared back in shock, before crossing his arms and frowning.  "Hmph!  I vill show you zat zee true way is Freud, yet!!!  I shall get back to work on my theories and be back to you with zee proof by zee end of zee day!"

Irvine stomped away mumbling various Freudianisms while the rest of the scientists including Janet decided that they probably should get back to their own projects.  They quickly dispersed, leaving only Bremare and Juli behind.

Bremare's shoulders slumped.  Juli glanced at Irvine in the distance, then looked at Bremare.  "You're not actually going to listen to them, are you?"

"Yea..."  Bremare sighed.  "But what Irvine and Janet said..."

"I thought Juni was special to you."  Juli snapped.  "You're not going to let some kooky theories about Freud change that, are you?  And you promised to me that being a clone didn't change anything, either!"

Bremare glanced up at her.  "I... promised?  That's an odd term for it."

"I'm not going to let you break my partner's heart, Bremare."  Juli continued, not noticing the odd term.  "You really care about her.  Don't let anything get in your way."

"Juli, you're right."  Bremare stood up straight.  "I'll take her to the restaurant where I buy my wine from.  It'll probably cost me an arm and a leg just to get in without a reservation as it is, but it'll be worth it!  In fact, I'll go tell her, now."

"There, you see?"  Juli replied as Bremare headed off to go catch Juni.  "I knew that you'd pull through for me."

Bremare abruptly stopped.  "Pull through for you?"

"Huh?"  Juli blinked.  "Um... yea... er... did I say that?"

"Um.... Juli, I'm not exactly sure, and of course you don't have to if you truly don't want to," Bremare replied, "but I think you need to talk about something to me."

"Wha?  Talk about something?  I'm sure it was just a slip of the tongue."  Juli wasn't even sure herself why she was talking that way.  "It's nothing, I'm sure."

"Darling, what are you doing?"

"I'm getting ready for my dinner with Bremare tonight, Avelle."

Juni glanced in the mirror while holding up a black full-body leotard that looked exactly like the one she was already wearing, then frowned.

"Hmph... I just realized how limited my wardrobe is..."

Avelle looked in the mirror and smiled.  "That's wonderful, dear.  So I take it you took my advice, then?  There are some great fringe benefits you could reap from this.  I mean, if the man really cared about you, he'd be more than happy to..."

"Stop it, Avelle."

Avelle paused in surprise.  "Huh?"

"I'm sorry."  Juni sighed.  "But I told you already, I'm not going to 'take advantage' of Bremare.  I can't bring myself to."

"Dear, you said you wanted to be like me, right?"

"Well, yes, but..."

"Then you need to learn to take an opportunity when it becomes available."  Avelle replied.

"Avelle!  I am NOT going to, okay?  That's final!"  Juni snapped back.

"Very well, dear, if you say so.  I suppose it can't be helped.  At any rate, whether you agree with me or not, this lack of proper attire is just atrocious.  Here, let me help you out.  Try this on."  The ex-agent handed Juni a sparkling black dress, turned around, hummed a little as she checked her make-up, then turned back around to see the result.  "Ah!  Perfect!"

Juni staired in the mirror again, this time wearing the sparkling black dress.  "Um... well, it's definately interesting."

The two paused as they heard footsteps. Avelle cursed as she slipped into a closet where no one could see her just as Serina burst into the room with Juli and Bremare following her.  Serina glanced around the room, put her two hands together, closed her eyes, and smiled.

"Good day, Juni."  Bremare smiled.  "Sorry I took so long to get away from everyone else.  And that's... an interesting outfit... erm, I mean, I must say, that's a fantastic dress you're wearing there.  Oh yes, that's right.  Silly me.  I forgot to tell you, I'd love to have dinner with you tonight.  In fact, I know of a great restaurant for it.  It's the one where I get the wines that I gave you back at the lab."

"Really?"  Juni beamed.  "Thanks!  I'd love to go!  Oh, I know where that restaurant is.  I'll be waiting there then and will set up a reservation if you're too busy to."

"Oh, thanks a lot."  Bremare nodded.  "I still have a full schedule today but I'll be there.  And... it doesn't matter but I'm curious.  Will you be wearing that for tonight?"

Juni glanced at the dress she was wearing, then put her hand against Bremare's chin and kneeled her head down, before quickly kissing him.  "Darling, why if it makes you happy, of course I will."

Her partner sighed.  "You're doing your Avelle impersonation again.  Quit joking around with that.  It's not funny.  And this time, it's even more like Avelle than last time."

"I like Juni's Avelle impersonations."  Serina happily beeped.  "They're the bestest!  And they're obviously working, too."

Juli rolled her eyes.  "Whatever.  I suppose it's not too important now.  Just as long as you two are happy together."

The young blonde agent smiled meekly.  "Aw, thanks, Juli!"

No one noticed Bremare raising an eyebrow at Juli's remark.  He coughed.  "Well, I think we should get going.  Juli, I really really do need to talk to you."

"Huh?"  Juli turned around to look at him.  "Do you need to, that badly, Bremare?  Well, whatever, then."

The two left the room, with an eager Serina who quickly followed.  After they were gone, Avelle stepped out of the closet.

"Darling, you really need to learn to lock your door."  Avelle snapped.  "If that man had come in approximately five minutes earlier, he would have seen an outfit on you that was a lot more 'interesting' than that absolutely fabulous dress you're wearing right now."

In the dark private room, Bremare poured her a glass of wine then sat down at the table with her.  "Why are you doing this, Juli?"

She didn't know how to respond.

I thought it would be great.  Bremare really cared about Juni.  To have someone care about you is what makes you special, isn't it?  It's what makes us human.  Lord Bison... I wish I could say he cared about us, but it sadly doesn't seem true since he cares only about Cammy.  But as long as there is someone out there, someone who could care about who you are, then you were special to at least one person which thus would make you special in general.  I didn't know how I could explain this to Bremare.

"Juli?"

I was pondering actually telling him the truth about me.  That I was just a doll too.  It wasn't very important, though, so I didn't bring it up.

"Do you really care about your partner so much, that you'd do this for her?  Because I can see something else in your eyes and in the way that you're acting."

I thought the most important thing was his happiness with my partner, Juni, as proof of humanity to myself.  Then Bremare made me realized that in my pursuit for my partner's happiness, I was neglecting my own.

"Maybe I'm wrong, Juli, but may I ask, are you doing this for me?"

Juli blinked. "Huh?"

"You've been acting rather strange, lately."  Bremare shrugged.  His wine glass was full but he didn't drink any of it.  "Maybe I'm mistaken.  Maybe I'm just kidding myself.  But... how you said how I promised to you and how you seem to want Juni and I to be 'happy together'... it just... it's been making me suspicious."

She stared.  "You... you think I..."

But did it have to be Juni that was with him?  I mean, it would be the same effect if it were me... except that Bremare doesn't know that I'm a doll, thus it wouldn't prove anything.  So now... for some reason, at that moment, I really wanted to tell him the truth about me.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't be making such assumptions."  Bremare put his hands together and bowed down his head.  "We've been friends for a really long time.  I think we'd notice if it were more than just that.  It's just funny.  I knew you cared about Juni a lot but I didn't know you'd care for her that much.  There's another agenda here.  There's someone else you really care about.  It's either you..."

It's me.  I'm doing this just to prove to myself that we... no, that I am more than just a doll.

"Or me."

Or.... is it...?

"Wish-Fulfillment..."

Bremare lifted his head.  "Huh?"

"Why should it be Juni?"  Juli closed her eyes.

Memories of that time when we first met.  Of how Bremare was my only friend for such a long time and the only one I could talk to after I had become a failure.  Of all those conversations over a glass of wine that we had in this room.  Of how he even cloned a partner, just for me.  Of the time he cheered me up back at the crown arcade.  Of everything he's done for me.  He didn't care for just Juni, after all.  He cared for me, too.

"Bremare..."  Juli stuttered.  "I..."

"I GOT IT!!!!!"

She was interrupted by a loud shout from outside.  It was Irvine's voice.

"What the..."  Bremare quickly looked around.  "Well, this is just... yeesh.  Juli, please stay here for a moment.  I'll go handle this."

Juli watched Bremare exit the room.  She stared at him as he left, then sighed to herself.

I love you...

"A table for two is prepared, madame."  The waiter bowed.

"Thank you, darling."  Juni smiled, then looked a bit sorrowful.  "I do appreciate it, but why did it take so long?  It made me sad."

"I apologize."  The waiter responded, perhaps blushing a bit.  "It was very inconsiderate of us.  Right this way."

After she was seated, Juni looked around and smiled.

Wearing the same sparkling dress, Avelle leaned against the window behind her.  "You see, darling, men WANT you to take advantage of them.  It makes them happy.  They love to serve you."

"I am NOT going to take advantage of Bremare, Avelle."  The blonde in the sparkling dress frowned, then stared at the rose in the vase on the table.  "Please don't ruin this night for me."

The red-haired girl shook her head and decided to remain silent as Desire and Fenrir walked right past the protesting waiter and up to Juni.

Well, actually, Desire ran up to her, not walked.  "Agent Juni, I was worried."

"Oh, Desire!"  Juni was surprised.  "You were worried about me?"

Desire looked around.  "Oh, that's good.  The replacement soul mate isn't here.  There is still time.  I've come to stop this tragedy from ever occurring."

"Tragedy?"

"Agent Juni, I've brought someone here to convince you that Bremare isn't the one for you before it's too late."  Desire looked at Fenrir, then stepped aside.

"Um... I don't read you here."  Juni remarked.

Fenrir crossed her arms and smiled.  "Dr. Yamoto isn't here yet?"

Juni blinked.  "Well... um... not yet, Agent Fenrir, but I'm sure he'll be here."

"He won't."   Arms still crossed, Fenrir frowned.  "That Yamoto is about as reliable as a god damn dodo bird."

"Wh... why do you say that?"

Desire simply sat back and observed, thinking to herself, "Ah, good ol' Fenrir.  Whenever you need to make someone hate something, Fenrir's bitching always gets the job done.  In this case it's justified.  It's for Agent Juni's and Agent's Juli's own good, after all."

"I know him pretty well."  Fenrir remarked, not knowing what Desire was thinking.  "He never told you, did he?"

"Told me what?"

"Juli believes that Yamoto and I once had a relationship.  She told you that, right?"

"She did mention it a long time ago when we were writing up our journals.  It was the filler chapter.  Third one, I believe."  Juni answered.  "It was back when we were summarizing what little of the other agents we knew, though back then we only knew a few of the rest of us agents.  But... Bremare and you really did have a relationship?"

"We sort of once did."  The circular-haired agent continued.  "But for our first real date, he stood me up.  He never was there when I needed him the most.  Of course seeing as to how he's not here right now, I'm sure he'll do the same to you."

"Madame,"  the waiter interupted.  "The special today is Roast Duck, one of the finest birds in the province."

Juni stared at the waiter.  "Um, I'm sorry, I'll ask about it later.  I'm talking to someone right now."

"My apologies."  The waiter bowed then left as Juni turned to Fenrir again.

She resumed the conversation with Fenrir.  "Bremare won't... I don't believe you."

"Ha!"  Fenrir laughed.  "Whatever.  Desire didn't need to bring me here to convince you.  Dr. Yamoto's actions will speak louder than my words ever will."

Fenrir turned around and left.  The Native American agent that brought her to the restaurant glanced around, then ran after her.

Juni stared at the other empty seat across the table and sighed, then looked towards Avelle, who had somehow remained inconspicious the entire time.

"Avelle... that's not... it can't be..."

The other girl sadly shook her head.  "Darling, I'm sorry, but I forgot to mention that while men might love to be taken advantage of, if you don't do it, then they'll take advantage of you..."

"Dammit, Irvine, what is it now?"  Bremare wasn't very pleased with the new intruder.  "I need to get going soon!  I'm already late."

Juli watched and listened, unnoticed, from the dark doorway to Bremare's secret private getaway room.

"DO YOU NOT SEE ZEE WAY?!?"  Irvine shouted into Bremare's face.  "I have it!  I have zee proof!  Zat zere truly is a complex most Oedipal and that Freud was proven right yet again!!!!"

"Not the damn Freud again!"  Bremare smacked himself in the forehead.  "Look, how much do I have to tell you that Sigmund Freud was a complete wacko?!"

"Oh, is he...?"  Irvine chuckled.  "Let us szee, then.  It ez true zat you hate our authority figure of M. Bison, is it not?"

"Well, first of all, I prefer to refer to him as our commander, not our authority figure."  Bremare replied.  "And yes, while I wouldn't say I HATE him, heresay, I don't exactly get along with him too well."

"Heehee, vatever you say..."  Irvine chuckled again, a little bit louder this time.  "But... ha, you are in love with zee clone zat ez your daughter and a product of your deepest dreamz, are you not?"

"I am not her father and dreams don't mean anything."  He replied again.  "But yes, I do love Juni and I will do anything for her now.  Juni being a clone has nothing to do with this.  Do you have a point?"

"Do I have a point?!?  DO I have a point?  Eeheeeheeheee..."  Irvine chuckled even more, and had to cover his mouth, now.  "Ov course I have zee point.  But I now see why you didn't see it!!  Juni being a clone haz EVERYTHING to do with zis!!!  Do you not know who she is a clone of?!?"

"She's a clone of the ultimate super soldier, isn't she?"

"Hahahahahahhaa!!!"  Irvine laughed out loud.  "She sharez zee same DNA as zee authority figure!!!!!!!!  SHE IS ZEE CLONE OF ZEE ULTIMATE MATE!!!"

Bremare blinked.  "Wha...?"

"AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!"   Irvine put his hand on Bremare's shoulder to support himself because he was laughing so hard.  "DO YOU NOT SEE?  When zee auzority figure is male, you do not like him!  You despize zee auzority figure of Bison!  But onze zee authority figure iz cloned and the clones are sent in, and zee auzority figure is female, zee true feelings show as you have realized your want to get zee mate!!!!!!!  YES!  Zat is zee way!"

Yamoto stared at him wide-eyed.  "What... did you just say?"

"ZEE DOLLZ ARE CLONES OF BISON!!!!"   Irvine shouted.  "I zought zey were merely flowers of zee rose, but zee truth is one and zee same!!!  Zee High Commander haz the beautiful soul of a rose which has allowed the dollz to be made to fulfill zee ultimate desire for zee mate!!  YOU LOVE ZEE AUTHORITY FIGURE OF BISON, THUS PROVING YOUR LOVE FOR THE AUTHORITY FIGURE OF ZEE MATE!  FREUD IS PROVEN RIGHT, YET AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Bremare stared, stunned.  "Juni... is... a female... clone... of... Bison...?"

He paused.  All became dark.  He remembered a recent memory.

"She kissed me..."

A memory of Juni kissing him back in her room when Yamoto invited her to a date.

A memory of big ol' lardo red Freud boy kissing him back in her room when Yamoto invited him to a date.

There are many shades of green in the world.  There is the beautiful bright green that some portray grass in, trees with a nice
bright green in their leaves, and then there's the dark gloomy somewhat disgusting green of spinach.  It had become apparent
that Dr. Yamoto's skin tone chose this green as its primary color.  And Juli was not willing to determine from the ensueing even more disgusting green mess on the floor whether or not Yamoto had spinach for lunch.

"Szee vat your repressed feelings have done?!?"  Irvine glared at the ground as Bremare keeled over clenching his stomach.  "BAH!  You fool!  But it doez not matter!  For Freud truly has been proven right again, and zere can never be no other!!!  Alwayz remember zis!  ZAT IS ZEE WAY!"

Irvine walked out of the lab, satisfied that his work there was done.

"Bremare!"  Juli quickly dashed up to the coughing scientist and patted him hard on the back, then gave him a napkin.

Bremare stood up, and stared into space.  "J... Juli, she's a clone..."

"Yes,"  Juli remarked.  "But you said she was..."

"She's a clone of Bison..."

"Bremare, don't."

"Juli...  I can't."   Bremare stared down at the floor, then shook his head.  "I... I can't think of her.  I..."

"KISS ME!"  M. Bison screamed.  "I LOVE YOU!"

"Everytime I try to think about her..."

"WHAT?  I'M YOUR AUTHORITY FIGURE!"  M. Bison shouted.  "YOU WANT ME TO BE ZEE MATE!!!!"

"There's... to look into her eyes, and see his..."

"DON'T FORGET HOW I TREAT YOU LIKE DIRT!"  M. Bison continued.  "YET YOU LOVE ME!  YOU'RE QUITE THE S&M PERSON, AREN'T YOU?"

"I can't go."  Bremare muttered.  "I... I can't face this."

"WHY CAN'T YOU FACE ME?!?"  M. Bison scowled.  "EMBRACE ZEE FREUD!"

Juli slapped Bremare hard.

He weakly looked at her as he put his hand to his cheek.  "You..."

"I can't believe you, Bremare!"  Juli snapped.  "You said she was special to you.  You loved her.  Or so I thought.  And yet... just something as simple as this... I wouldn't mind if Bison kissed me, you know.  In fact, I'd prefer it!"

"You realize that is soooooo much easier for you to say than it is for me, right?"  Bremare replied.

"Bremare, I misjudged you..."  Juli remarked.  She tried to be angry but her eyes began to fill with tears.  "I... I have to go!"

She dashed out of the room as Bremare watched her leave.

Alone, the doctor simply stared.  "She's... special to me... I have to go... to see her... to see..."

"FREUD AND PSYCHO POWER MAKE THE ULTIMATE MERGE!"  M. Bison cheered.  "NO WAIT!  MAKE ZAT ZEE ULTIMATE MATE!"

"To see him..."

Somewhere, at a certain restaurant where a certain scientist from a certain misunderstood underground organization ordered his wines from for a certain private room of his, a certain girl waited.  She waited, knowing that that certain man would come...

There     she      stays,

She hopes that there's a way,

perhaps a possible way.

Will    I     say,

That he won't come there today?

That there's no possible way.

Because that's what we're here for,

That's why we fight forever more,

But he doesn't want to be with you...

Will the bird ever fly again?

Can it forever ever be changed?

He will never be with you.

He    sees    you.

But everything is blue.

Because the one he hates is you.

Yet    he    tries.

He tries to stop on by.

He wants to stop on by.   Stop on by.

But he can not fight the Freud

Despite how he knows about how it's rude.

And despite how he knows it breaks your heart.

Will the bird now ever soar?

Will it ever fly forever more?

It will not, now, ever again.

Night    goes   by,

Forever ever ever goes by,

She waits the entire night.

He      won't     come.

For he has seen the way.

And it means he'll come no more.  Come no more.

You wait and wait and wait,

He knows that it's too late.

He will not... can not see the girl.

The girl realizes that it's a lie.

And now all she can do is cry.

That's what she meant to you.

When Juni came home the next morning, I knew that she waited all night.  I saw Bremare go to the restaurant that night.  I saw him look at her through the window.  I saw him struggle with himself.  To struggle with the knowledge that he just got.  But I knew that he never came in.  When Juni came home the next morning, I knew not to ask her what happened.  I knew what happened anyway.  No amount of talking would have fixed things.  The most I could do was hold her while she cried.  I felt sorry for her.  I felt sorry for me.  I felt sorry for us.

Because we are just dolls.  We were not meant to be cared for.  No one cares about us.  We live only to serve a purpose that we were created for.

Bremare, that's what we meant to you.
