Anakaris stood in the centre of the room and said "<Why am I here Sage Smith?.>"

Smith looked up from where he was taking measurements of Anakaris "<Well you can't really walk around wearing your Kilt now can you.>"

The Emperor said in his mind (he is insolent kill him now)

The Mummy thought (Yes Killllllllll)

Anakaris thought (NO!!! He is the only Ally I have at the moment and he does know about this land, he is not insolent just wise in how he should act, if he treats me like an Emperor then we will be discovered)

Smith stood up and said "<Well you are quite big but I think one of my sons "suits" will fit you.>"

Anakaris frowned "<What is a "suit"?.>"

"<A garment, something for you to wear.>"

Smith hurried out of the room and down the hall leaving Anakaris alone (hmmmmmmm perhaps I can put my Arms down now) Anakaris lowered his arms and looked around the room at the bed, wardrobes and desk (So this is how people live now)

Smith hurried into his sons room (I wonder how Bradley is doing?) he thought (I haven't had word from him in a while, I wonder how his course is going) he opened the wardrobe and fished out the biggest suit he could find (I hope he will not mind if I lend the pharaoh one of his suits) he glanced out the window said to himself "OH it must be later than I thought, it's almost dark out." he slung the suit over one shoulder, grabbed some underwear, shirt, socks and shoes and hurried back to his bedroom to find Anakaris over by his desk holding the Amulet he was studying "<< bought the "suit" Emperor.>"

Anakaris looked over with a frown ""

Smith blinked "<Well on the expedition where........we..........opened.............your.........................tomb.>" he saw the look on the pharaoh's face "<I got it from your tomb.>"

Anakaris sighed and said sadly "<So, all of my burial treasures have been taken.>"

"<Well yes I'm sorry errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr you can have the Amulet back.>" Smith said looking worried

The Pharaoh's mouth twitched in a half smile "<Thank you Sage Smith, he said an eastern mage named Lo-Sang gave it to him.>" he hung the amulet around his neck and walked over to the Professor "<Give me the "suit", I think it is time I distilled in.>"

"<Errrrrrrrrrrr that is blended in Emperor Anakaris.>" said Smith

"<Very well, blended in and please call me Anakaris.>" he placed a hand on Smiths shoulder "<you remind me of that old friend I spoke of, he also was a wise Sage and he called me that.>"

"<Anakaris.>" said Professor Smith with a smile

The Pharaoh smiled back

Anakaris took the "suit" and looked at the strange looking triangular wire frame it was hanging on (strange) he thought (It smells peculiar, sort of musty) he took the suit off the frame and prepared to pull it on

Sage Smith said "<Oh no no no first you must take of your kilt and put these on.>" he held out more strange garments "<These first.>" he held out what looked like a closed in loincloth "<It's "underwear".>"

Anakaris frowned but pulled of his Kilt and loincloth

(he try's to command you, show him who is master) thought The Emperor

(kill killlllllll KILLLLLLLL) thought The Mummy

Anakaris ignored them and pulled on the "underwear" followed by a "shirt", "socks", and a "tie" he then put on the "suit" all with a little guidance from Sage Smith (I must remember that: "socks" go on feet not hands and a "tie" goes on the neck not around the waist) Sage Smith them helped him into the "suit" and "shoes", the belt was little problem as the pharaoh had had experience before he died with sashes and girdles, although the idea of holes that you put the piece of metal through to hold it on was new

"<I now blend in?.>" asked Anakaris as Smith opened the door of the "closet" to show a mirror

"<Yes, yes you do.>" he said as Anakaris admired himself

"<Good, though this "shirt" and "jacket" are a little tight.>" he flexed his arms and there was a ripping sound "<Hmmmmmmm maybe a little too tight?.>"

Sage Smith sighed "<Yes I think so, maybe we should buy you something larger?.>"

Anakaris smiled "<No need.>" he took off the strange clothes and put his loincloth and kilt back on "<Watch.>"

The Pharaoh stood in front of the mirror and closed his eyes, after a few seconds his clothes began to change and he was wearing a suit again "<Better, it is good that my clothes can be changed as well as my body.>" he turned to Sage Smith "<Do I look good?.>"

"<Yes, Yes very good, we will see if we can get a plane to Egypt tomorrow.>"

"<That is good and tonight?.>"

Sage Smith smiled "<Sleep.>" he showed Anakaris to a room he said belonged to his son and said "<Sleep well.>" before returning to him own room

Anakaris changed back to his kilt and got into the unusually soft bed and sunk into his first sleep for centuries

About midnight he was awoken by a voice in his head, not The Emperor nor The Mummy but The Lord of Sand, The General (I am sorry I had to wake us but I felt I had to comment on The Amulet) can the thought

(What about it?) thought Anakaris

(only a fool goes into battle with a weapon he has not tested, you know you can trust the Sceptre of the Scarab and The Cobra and the Ankh of Change but you have not used the Amulet, only been shown it and told of its powers) thought the Lord of Sand (get up, go outside, try the amulets power)

(very well) he got up and picked up the Sceptre and the Ankh and tucked them into his kilt then crept out of the room

Out at the front of the house Anakaris raised his arms, his Ankh in his left hand and the Sceptre in his right

"<By the name of the ............>" he thought (what did he tell me to say) he thought (he said the language did not matter but the words did)

"<By the name of the Celestial Empire I call on the power of The Elements, Obey me.>"

Black clouds began to gather and the wind began to pick up
